There wasn't back then. Not just regarding CRPGs, but D&D 1st ed was nothing but a dungeon bashing boardgame.

Perhaps in the earliest version of OD&D when it was still a expansion for Chainmail, but certantly not in the eighties when vidya RPGs began to be developed in earnest. By that time you already have AD&D, Basic Roleplaying, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Traveller and so on.
