This cinematic makes no sense. Who was still distributing power to that television set? Which station was still broadcasting that advert after the bombs fell?

Have you even played Fallout? Because you don't seem to be very familiar with the setting.

Nuclear powered TV/VCR combo, with autorewind function, playing a tape the owner had recorded from broadcast television, with the play button stuck down.

So you have this television set that lies unharmed even though you can see that the building it's in was torn apart by a nuclear blast?

Nuclear power was the main power source. Everything had self contained nuclear reactors in them. Tvs, cars, guns, power armor, refrigerators, mr. Gutsys, you name it.

How the fuck do you get Fallout 1 and 2 running on Windows 7? I tried the GOG versions of both and 1 froze as soon as I left the cave and 2 wouldn't even start.

The television may have been transported there at a later time. What specifically about the condition of the building makes it clear that it was torn apart by a nuclear blast rather than having crumbled due to decay?

I have been able to get it to work on windows 7 but I had to do some tinkering. Just do a simple search.

I don't know what you're doing, but the gog versions always worked fine for me without any mods.

>2 wouldn't even start.
do you mean that is in
>click the game
>nothing appears to happen
>then open the task manager
>see if there's a second instance of rundll32.exe that's explicitly using a lot of cpu and ran
then that one is the result of microsoft killing the windows game service earlier this year that fucks with the launching of some mid 00 games.
There's a few work around to that https://www.gog.com/forum/general/old_games_not_launching_and_eating_100_of_the_cpu_on_windows_7/page1
