Damn it feels good to play as the devs intended.

I remember this picture, it was from another anon who was having technical issues but he resolved it in the end. Now he can play retro video games! Maybe you can try that too OP.

>> No.5859450

Imagine seeing so badly that you can’t play on a CRT that you’re still reposting this days later.

>> No.5859453

Disclaimer: This thread is not against CRT's but composhite video and RF.

>> No.5859461

>>5859453
Disclaimer: you’re a retarded faggot. Composite is how they were intended to be played.

Yeah, don't you just love the dot crawl and fuzz.

>b-b-but dot crawl!
It’s overstated and not an issue with good cables. Minor downside to get dither blending which was taken into consideration for almost every game.

another quality thread brought to us by our friends from /v/

on systems which are not from Nintendo*

You're also implying RGB doesn't already blur the fuck out of a SNES output by design.

We already had this thread.

This guy had literally shoved his video cable into his SNES upside down. It's basically this months flavor of that guy connecting composite cables into his PVM very very incorrectly

>> No.5859673

There are Nintendo games that make use of dithering. RGB doesn’t blur it, CRTs in general blur pixels to varying degrees with any cable

>There are Nintendo games that make use of dithering.
Which is pretty much visible on any output.
>RGB doesn’t blur it
Because it's supposed to blur hi-res "dithering" stripes, which aren't a thing in 90% of games.
>CRTs in general blur pixels to varying degrees with any cable
False.

They certainly do blend pixels horizontally

>> No.5860586

No, they don't. At least not on healthy units.

That was me! I'm a fucking idiot. My Dreamcast came in the mail this week but it came with an RF adapter, but the same thing happened, my third party AV cable doesn't output any signal. But it also feels weird going into the back, it doesn't snap in like the RF one.

I think that perhaps you don't understand the basic technology at work in CRTs. A high definition CRT like a good VGA monitor will have a high enough for pitch that horizontal pixel boundaries will be visible but they'll still be somewhat blurred upon close enough examination.

You should need perfect convergence on an aperture grille screen displaying a signal that's an even multiple of the screen's true physical horizontal resolution.

Thanks but I'll pass at squinting at a 19" broadcast monitor. If I was that worried about squeezing resolution out of an old game, I'd run an emulator or use a framemeister.
