.... welp youre right but from what i heard the retron has quality degrade from the raspberry pi so that's i bought the pi. i also wanted a solution that will have all my dumps in one place :/

The main benefit to a raspberry pi system is that you don't have to tolerate the Genesis version for every game. You can have Genesis and you can have most everything else too. A large number of the games were better in the arcade, so you can simply use the mame rom instead and have the better game. Also some game franchises span multiple systems and multiple system vendors, so you don't have to be stuck with a partial collection when the games are not all available for the Genesis. There is really no reason for you to avoid NES, SNES, Atari, NeoGeo, or TG16 games.
