Should I buy recent i3-9100f or ryzen 5 3600 to emulate PC Engine and PS1 or are they ok to emulate using 2013 i5 CPU?

Neither one of those toasters will do justice to Valis III. My 3900X will barely get it done.

If your 2013 i5 CPU can't run PC-Engine or PSX in Mednafen, you have some serious malware to worry about.

(also lmbo@ the state of emulation today, epsxe ran fine on my goddamn Athlon XP from 15 years ago and now people are complaining that their fuckin NASA supercomputers from the future can't hack it)

Because ePSXe is an inaccurate emulator that happens to be the PSX equivalent of ZSNES and it should have died forever ago since we're not using ancient Athlons anymore. Now we've all moved onto Mednafen for PSX unless your PC can't handle it. Then you use that fork of PCSXR that lets you scale games up into HD better than ePSXe handles it.

How long before byuu starts "writing" an emu for PSX???

There's also XEBRA. Brilliant performance, no frills, though loading games is really poorly implemented.

I remember back in 2010 or 2011 SNES 9x resumed developing and it was an exciting time because the hipsters and trannies weren't into emulation or gaming at all
