What was the last game you beat/finished?

What is the next game you are going to play and hopefully finish?

Not retro but it was Super Mario Sunshine. hadn't played it since GameCube was current-gen. Didn't much like it at lunch, wanted to see if I would feel different now. I'm coming for Galaxy next, I'm just in a 3D Mario mood I guess.

Metal Gear Solid. Plan on beating MGS2. As for retro stuff I've been meaning to play SMT: Soul Hackers for a while.
Are remakes and total conversions retro? I mean DQV released in 1992 in Japan but the best way hailed to play it is the DS remake.

Powerslave on Saturn... got the bad ending. Which is really the good ending. Also finished Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped a little while back. That was short. But fun. I don't remember finishing it ever before though I might have.

About to finish Ninja Cop and Shinobi Legions. I will be seeking out more 2D ninja action after that.

Recent non-retro finishes are Super Mario Sunshine for the first time and Amid Evil.

Just started Eternal Darkness. I'm going in blind. I know some vague stuff about it. Got maybe an hour in so far. Seems cool.

I have started many others that I put on hold for now but might complete later on. Heart of Darkness, Tomba 2, Turok 1&2, Blood, etc. etc.

"Good" is a strong word anon. But I'm not exactly a Shinobi expert over here. I only ever really played III and GG.

Like >>5765096 said, it's worse than III in almost every aspect - but then again, which title in the series isn't? It has a deeper moveset than III for example. I found that enjoyable. Just differently angled slices and stabs with your sword or a forward roll into optional sword thrust. Stuff like that.

The part where after picking up a certain power-up that buddhist god of war appears for the rest of the level every single time your swing your sword didn't work out so well visually I think. It's a huge sprite. Don't know what's up with that. Maybe it's about showing off hardware capabilities.

FMV cutscenes were campy fun. I don't swoon over that stuff. Overall, defintiely not a must play by any means. There are better 2D ninja action games to sink your teeth into... like the aforementioned Ninja Cop. Now that's a good game!

The last game I beat was Einhander. I haven't beat a game in a while because I'm going for a 1cc in Mushihimesama and it's really difficult, and I don't get as much time to play as I used to. Getting better little by little though - I've made it to stage 4 on 1 credit.

Just beat Asterix (Infogrames, 1993) for Game Boy. Recently learned the history of the comic and wanted to one of the games a try. OK platformer, but Asterix is slippery as shit when trying to run and jump. Had a lot of problems falling off ledges instead of jumping. Overall, fun and quick little platformer.

Not retro, but last game I beat was Valkyria Chronicles. Really good game and I'm excited to play the sequels to see what improvements have been made.

Currently playing DQ5 on the DS. It's really good. Really good. Just got crowned king of Gotha. It's all very simple as far as RPGs go but I'm really liking the story.
