Pussy kid in my neighborhood had this game, went over to his house and he said I was bad at the game, during lunch time at school me and friends would hit prowrestling moves on him, usually he would be walking alone in the field and I would run up and spear him. Nigga please.

No one cares about 99% of the 7th gen. Most games are forgotten after 2 or 3 months.

For non-zoomer or non-normie standards, most of those games aren't obscure, they're just the bulk of titles that won't qualify for greatest hits.

Now my perception might be a bit skewed considering here in Latin America bootleg pressed CDs were widespread.

Like Pepsiman. Considered obscure and only recently memed by AVGN. Plenty of kids in Latin America played it back then.

t. Former smuggler of bootleg pressed Hong Kong PS1 CDs and SNES and MegaDrive carts here in South America.

This is true but PS1 takes this idea to another level since the vast majority of its games are too outdated to enjoy today. Later consoles you can still get some enjoyment out of its more forgotten games in its library but PS1 was way too deep in the experimental phase of 3D. This is why it got so many forgotten games that are basically like ancient relics these days.

Went over to a kids house who had this and Battle Arena Toshinden, my friends always made fun of the kid and I didn't know why but we had a sleepover and started wrestling on a pullout sofa, his foot went in between the mattress part and the frame and got cut by the screws or whatever, he woke his grandma up and started crying to her that I did it to him. I’m a ps1 enthusiast and here are my picks:

Pac-Man World: hands down the best platformer on the ps1

Assault Retribution: A completely insane run and gun 3D shooter. Incredibly random and tons and fun.

Worlds Scariest Police Chases: A surprisingly fun racing/mission game. It even has the original voice of the host from the show. Had tons of fun with it.

Fucking these!

BoF IV has the best --if incredibly fucked up-- story of the series and I really wish Capcom would make more of an effort into an RPG with such feels again.

Tales of Destiny... I swear to God, you can't find the *actual* soundtrack of this game anywhere. The CD release fucks it up/remixes things do it doesn't quite sound the same, it's so annoying. Game itself is kinda on the easy side, which is a darn shame, but honestly, it's got the opposite quality than BoF IV. Simple game premise with *likable* characters that doesn't get so fucking bogged down the way later Tales games do... It's also nice to have at least most of the MCs wear actual fantasy armor instead of some Prom suit shit that come with sword belts...
