no, it doesn't. it really fucking doesn't.
the more elaborate western art was always supreme compared to this. jap cover is not a bad cover though. just very textbook like to fit protags, bosses and most enemies into one pic. western cover does the detailed characterization of the main figures more justice. Details on the face, armor and all that you wouldn't see otherwise. I like that. it's clearly defined and not simplistic chibi meme shit.
