What's the perfect retro game to play on a rainy day?

>> No.5101662

I play American McGee's Alice in rainy days but I'm also emo af.

>> No.5101732

Daggerfall, in the mountain provinces

>> No.5101735

super mario world with the lights turned off but near a window that has just enough light to see, preferrably in a basement with gray or blue carpet (not bright blue you know the kind im talking about), especially good if you have a blanket and it's kind of musty, the walls are painted stark white and have a slight texture to them, the crt is sitting on an old wooden cabinet that you chipped your tooth on when you were a child, but you've grown old and now there's hair on your toes that are sticking out of that blanket you've had for so long. why couldn't it have turned out differently? at least we have donut hills.

>> No.5101737

A somber game like Valkyrie Profile. Anything kind of slow and story-driven in general also works.

>the walls are painted stark white and have a slight texture to them

I prefer the walls to be wood paneled but I like your thinking.

Perfect rainy day game for me is something comfy like kirby's adventure or perhaps Double Dragon 2.

Most games are good in the rain but I have very fond memories of playing Snatcher and Chrono Cross while snowed in.

Are these games playable without Japanese knowledge? I feel like it wouldn't be but it looks so relaxing.

>> No.5109785

>>5109726
Yes they are.
You just need to learn the basic rules of the game. The speedometer, distance meter, current and goal times are all numbers, that's what you're going to worry about the whole time.

My ultimate comfy rainy day game would have to be Snatcher, in fact you should only ever play that game if it's raining outside.
Early Command & Conquers and Stronghold also have a great Sunday afternoon feel....

I have played the Snes, GBA, GBC, PS1, PSP and several other Harvest Moon games, but never this one. The way the areas are cut with rough black borders always looked weird to me.
Should I try it again and just keep going until the end?

Unlikely, I have all these games to play, each one would take a good time investment to beat 100%. Then there's the issue that I spend so much time on unimportant things and I feel guilty about it

If you don't like it then don't force yourself. Among fans it's probably the most popular along with BTN and FOMT though.
