What's the best harvest moon game? Only one I played was wonderful life and I fucking hated it.

Seconding this. Back to Nature is also fine just not as good as 64, and Friends of Mineral Town is also recommended.

A Wonderful Life is a pretty decent game.
Unless you played the awful PS2 port, I don't think any other game will change your opinion on the series.
