>What is Crush pinball?
A series of virtual pinball games developed by Compile and published by NAXAT. The series debuted on TG16 with Alien Crush, which was followed up with a sequel, Devil's Crush. Devil's Crush was later ported to Sega Genesis / Mega Drive by Tengen. Tengen then used the license to develop an independent sequel for the Sega Genesis entitled Dragon's Revenge. Compile developed another console-exclusive sequel, Jaki's Crush, for SNES. Some of the games later appeared on Virtual Console and PSN.

The series is known for its visceral and occult-like aesthetics. Alien Crush was very clearly based on themes from H. R. Giger's surrealist imagery. Devil's Crush introduced more occult elements, like serpents and demonic conjuration - which subsequently led to some minor censorship for releases outside of Japan.

I feel like these games were built with the idea of having it play out in short sessions like regular pinball, but then someone got the bright idea to add bosses to make the games all at least an hour because playing pinball for an hour straight is fun

It's a shame you cared more about some autistic goal than enjoying a good game. Had you played it you would have found that there are ways to put the game in a state where you accumulate points without taking any action and no chance of loosing the ball. You simply leave it there for as long as it takes to max out the score. It gives me an immense amount of pleasure to be the one to tell you that you missed out one what might have been one if your lifes greatest achievements simply because you were too lazy to even try.

I don't know if it's really regarded as canon though. Tengen seems to have made it simply because they had the license.

Had a tg 16 at home with a snes.

recently found out they were good games so I tried them out. New addition to my snes classic.
