stop strawmanning. I want something that is long and a bit in depth, like sonic or mario games, just without all the story shit. NiGHTS is fun because there's actually some more content than just one (1) level, and has tons of replayability. same goes for most of sega's other arcade stuff on the saturn. the DC on the other hand doesn't really hold my interest for longer than 10 or 15 minutes at a time, excepting seaman of course

I find the dreamcast has many games like this and it's the reason i like a lot of sega arcade games. Like Crazy Taxi for example, you can just play it but it has a lot of movement options that makes it fun to pick up and play in a burst or take the time to master.

there are other games like Shenmue, SoA, or Grandia II for long playthroughs but they are few and far between on the system.

Like other anons have said, it was different era, when every game didnt have to have some crazy narrative. Thats why I have heard people say it was one of the last great "game" systems because it had great games and thats it, no bullshit, no center of the living room garbage like today, just games.
