I agree, it's pretty aesthetic.
Love the SFC design too, but the american SNES is swell.

I think the hate it gets is part Yuro vs Yank shitposting, and part kids who weren't alive back in the day and are now jumping very very late into the bandwagon and want to have edgy opinions to "fit in" or something, except they do the total opposite of fitting in.
Either way, yeah, both designs are pretty cool, I'm glad I'm not biased and able to appreciate (and own) both.

The feeling when you jam in a cart, push that power switch forward with that shunk-click noise. It feels too good.

The purple is certainly not attractive, and the purple feet are maybe the worst part of the design, but I don't hate it. Kinda reminds me of one of the PS3/4 slims.

I own a couple of Super Famicoms, but I actually don't like the design that much. It's just sort of a blob. I'd say it's probably the least attractive Nintendo console until the Wii U. The logo is cool though.

The NA SNES is more distinctive and the power/reset/eject mechanisms are nicer to use. Really don't understand why people hate it so much.
