What are /vr/'s thoughts on this game?
I just started it playing, and I like it, even if I find it a bit too hard.

>> No.4290697

I played the demo of it more than any other demo of the era. It came in PC gamer demo disc and included the first 1/3 of the full game. Amusingly the comments that enemy rednecks made was totally different form the two version (demo was actually funnier while full version had more swears).

This was the first FPS game I ever played. My dad had it when I was like... 5 or something. Remember being scared of some alien like creatures and something about shooting chickens. Also recall having to hit your buddy in the face with a crow bar.

I like the fact that it got released on Japan.

One of the most underrated FPS series imo. I enjoy the original, the expansion, and the sequel.

Never played the hunting game spin-off though, but I'd be genuinely interested in playing it if I could find it.

I like how different it is from other games in the genre in terms of setting and theme and atmosphere. The "relatable real world setting" is cool and something that should have been used more frequently in FPSes instead of everything being sci-fi or war themed. I also really like the humor. And the weapons are relatively well done.

You can replenish your health with medkits (beer & whiskey) and get drunk that way. While drunk, controls are reversed, your vision becomes pixelated and your character start looking 90 degrees to the left or right.
You can also get sober by drinking moonshine and eating cowpies & pork rings. That's about it.
Also, if you eat too much solid food, you gasmeter starts going and and your character will fart, which launches the player a bit forward

It's unfairly hard in a way that it has hitboxes that are smaller than enemy sprites coupled with terrible hit detection, so many enemies end up taking more shots than they should (dogs, wasps and imps are most egregious examples, but it happens on other enemies as well, just with less frequency)
