One was cable-operated, the other used satellite technology to function and required a modem-like peripheral. which do you like more overall?

Oh, and anyone else here wonder how it would have turned out if Nintendo tried bringing Satellaview to the Americas via deals with either Dish Network(yes, they were around back then), TWC, Verison, or AT&T? I mean, XBand already had support for the SNES as well as the Genesis/Mega Drive.

The Sega Channel was more successful. The Satellaview would have fell flat on it's face in America because no one would know what the hell that thing is.

Nice backwards logic
Of course nobody heard of it, BECAUSE it wasn't released there

Nah the kind of thing it is just wouldn't have been understood. The limited time to play a game in broadcast form just wouldn't have worked in America. It only worked in Japan because of it's culture.

Radio stories weren't popular in the united states since the 1940's. It would have failed.

It couldve worked, back then we actually liked gathering around the TV at a certain time for a special event. People still do it in WoW and shit all the time. Had a ton of fun over X-band back in the day.
