I didn't know much about anime as a kid, or that it was Japanese, the flashy artstyle simply caught my attention. I like a lot of Japanese media, but the craze over it over the years annoyed me because there's an equal amount of really shitty things coming out of Japan but still got lionized.

I fucking loved how tense boss fights could get when you're underprepared for the boss fight you're in, you know you're underprepared for the boss fight you're in. You're getting your ass kicked because youre underprepared for the boss. Or maybe you get to your second kanon fight and she's just fucking you up. But then you get the force you need, henshin into this badass motherfucker, and that music starts playing.

Writers are all but dispersed. Many of the figureheads that were the so called "talent" are relegated to shitty divisions such as mobile phone games. Many of the older more obscure composers outright left the industry or went independent. And where that didn't happen the companies are outright dead.
