Anyone wanna talk about Road Rash? Which one is your favorite? I always liked 2 the best.

>> No.2871374

2 or 3 were my favorites.

>> No.2871380

Only played RR1 on the PS1 and it's one of the most fun games I ever played.

>> No.2871497

RR2 was always my favorite. Spent many hours beating up motorcycle cops and jumping cows in the road

>> No.2871631

Cattle prod was the best.

>> No.2872161

PC version 1995 ish was better.

Graphics were cartoony other than the PS1 video capture type

all three of them were great

anything outside of the first 3 are gay

>> No.2872383

https://youtu.be/0D44RBuBx_M is playing in my head manually. The Amigafag port was actually decent and I always wondered why 2 or 3 never made it. EA ported all the Strike games that weren't Urban onwards, even.

Wow never thought I'd see the original Road Rash running that smooth. Gonna have to try out that Amiga port someday.

We used to get drunk and play this game because the controls were so bad we couldnt finish any levels. This is one of the games its so terrible its fun.

>> No.2872480

The only one I've played was the PS1 Road Rash game. A friend of mine told me that, ironically, the 3DO version of it is much better.

>> No.2872483

>>2871369
I prefer the gameplay and graphics of Road Rash 2. BUT The music for Road Rash 1 is the best in the entire series. Road Rash 3 is pretty cool though. The PC version is almost like a different game. The N64 version IS a different game. Road Rash 2 is classic.

>> No.2872489

Oh and by the way. I really hate Viper and Biff. Natasha was my first girlfriend.

Ironically, I read the Sega Power book about the game beforehand, where the MC did hook up with Natasha.
That ended up 'ruining' the ending for me when there was no real indication you did that in the game.
Still pretty hot, though...at least in 2

You must be pretty awful at games if you can't control RR64, m8.

IMO it's the only Road Rash that actually took the concept to its full potential.

64 controlled and played fine. It just looked like utter shit.

>> No.2873713

rr64 was great i loved the wall level

I played the hell out of RR2 on Sega Genesis.

>Wow never thought I'd see the original Road Rash running that smooth.

It runs way smoother if you overclock your Megadrive. It is just about the only game that properly benefits from it too.

>> No.2874069

>>2873695
fuck that. it looked fine for the time, and it was the one instance where the dreaded n64 fog actually helped in making the game more fun. you never knew when a transport truck was coming at you

No it didn't. It looked mediocre during the time it came out. It is an ugly game. It came out in 1999 with many better looking games were being made.

Doesn't mean it is a bad game for it, you could go off the track if you wanted to and drive to god knows where, and all of the chaos that happens was great with cars mowing into pedestrians and other motorcyclists.

Probably my favorite racing game, or close to it with Burnout.

>> No.2875680

Fuck this shit. Just go play Super Hangon, you faggots.

n64 Rash was weak. Less emphasis on rashing and it became just an average racer with short boring tracks and right angle turns that are near impossible to navigate with ease.
No sense of speed, murky landscapes, having to hit an opponent 40 times just to knock them off.

The first three are fucking great.

I've not played them but the CD releases are apparently GOAT

>> No.2875921

I played the Saturn version and while it's good I prefer the original games more because you can't steal someone's weapons in the Saturn one. Instead you just start out with a metal pipe in some races.

>> No.2875943

>>2871369
There was on 3DO I liked. Me, dad, brother would play it. Me and my brother were too young to care about racing too much, but if you ran into a building you'd fly way up and onto the roof I think. Thought it was hilarious to run back to your motorcycle

>> No.2875948

>>2875914
>Less emphasis on rashing
I disagree. I ended up in tons of cluster fucks in which I had to fight my way out of. There were just so many racers that it was easy to end up in a mob of enemies. I personally found the PS1 game to have more of an emphasis on racing rather than battling and racing.

>> No.2876687

what do you guys think of road redemption?

>> No.2877479

>>2876687
Been playing that a bit yesterday and it's kind of a mixed bag for me. On one hand I love the absolutely chaotic nature the game has at times but on the other I don't really like how the weapons system works and the fact that even if you're in first place there's always a shitload of bikers around you. Just completely kills the satisfaction of beating your way to the top if it still feels like you're in fifth or sixth place.

>> No.2878495

>>2876687
I've put at least six or seven hours of it. It's the closest thing to road rash these days. I'd like to see more variety in the environments but if you can find it for under or around $10-$15 it's a lock

Didn't RR1 had some basic relation system ? I remember Natasha saying that she'll wait for you if you crash (and she did), and getting angry (in text and portrait) if you hit her during race.

>> No.2878623

>>2876687

Road Rash is a "violent" game which is goofy enough to don't pretend it's serious shit, specially Jailbreak. Road Redemption is one of the few cases I'd like to use the expression "edgy", they missed the whole point of RR with that game.
