Playing my first DOS game (I'm 21, from '91), this shit right here.

Beneath A Steel Sky

It is so good and the humor is just so on point! Also the gameplay is slow but really satisfying, I am in love with it.

Please recommend me some more DOS games (any genre)!

Am I the only one who thinks that game kinda sucked? There were some decent moments, I guess and the atmosphere was alright.

Have you played Monkey Island 1 and 2, OP?

Pizza Tycoon, while not one of the *best* DOS games (in fact it had some infuriating bullshit artificial difficulty and tedious micromanagement elements), did have some very fun elements, like being able to completely customize the pizzas you offer.

I mean sure, it's fully voiced with a superb cast of actors and has the most interesting combat system, but why deny yourself the full experience of character progression?

It's not technically a DOS game, but it's an early 90s roguelike for Windows 3.1 (works on all versions of Windows though) based on Norse mythology that is a lot of fun and is much, much easier than most roguelikes, so if the dying every 5 seconds and never 'beating' the game frustrates you about other roguelikes, you might like this one. It's called Castle of the Winds.
