Official Xbox Magazine of course. Literally the best demo discs ever made, every single month. Having a subscription to OXM was a gaming experience all in itself. You could basically sample the entire library with a subscription.

This is true and the art is cool, I like the 90’s underground comic style.

Xchads got like, hundreds of game demos though, and cool behind the scenes videos. I’d take that trade off.

Even with access to internet pornography, there was something so much more exhilarating about getting these in the mail and flipping through the pages to find those pages filled with barely clad butts and boobs. That one spread of Lara Croft in the tiny diamond bikini was something else.

This is actually true. I'd leave those demo discs on in the background for the music.
And it was a time before YouTube, people had to submit videos that they'd put in the next issue. That's how I found out about flying a tank in Vice City.
OXM, GameMasters, and PowerStation (UK PS1 magazine) were the ones I regularly got. And sometimes PLAY.

i miss when gaming mags were soft porno mags in the 90s. Easily better than playboy. I mostly stopped buying them after 2000 though I bought a couple in the 00s and what shocked me the most was although they were more sanitised, the back of the mags had literal adult ads in them.

PSM from launch until late-98 / early-99 was pure late-90's chill vibes, but it very quickly started shilling PS2 early and lost all of it's charm, it was at it's best focusing exclusively on PS1.

Yeah I honestly can't really remember how good or bad the actual articles and reviews were in PSM, I just loved the original artwork and the part of the magazine dedicated to gaming in Japan. There were a lot of exclusive stuff the Japs got back then before everyone else.

Ultra Game Players had a disc every month with PC demos and little "vlog" snippets of the writing staff bullshitting and talking about office shenanigans. It was also where I acquired my copy of Christmas Nights. I had every issue at one point, lost to time. What I wouldn't give to have that stack of soulful game mags again.

holy based anon, this was the best magazine in Spanish, they really went out of their way like making a weeb play jap games and explain them for the community. They rarely missed. A while back I was checking out their take on WE vs FIFA and it was so spot on

I'd also add Gamepro (in Spanish)

As a speccy owning kid my favourite mag was Your Sinclair, I loved the in-jokes and self-deprecation, the way the writers kept the pretense that they were working out of a shed, each writer having their own unique personalities, their general chummy way of writing and the way they frequently directly addressed the reader. It was a very comfy read.
