why is handling so fucking dogshit in this?

>> No.10352731

It's a deliberate one-two punch with the dogshit graphics, you see.

>> No.10352735

Are you emulator or using a Dreamcast?
What controller are you using?
Have you calibrated your analog settings?

redream + Dualsense + lowest analog sens
still feels twitchy as shit

>> No.10352741

>>10352738
Increase the dead zone of your analog stick. The dualsense may have less deadzone than a dreamcast controller.

Sumo digital.

>Sumo digital.
Sumo Digital had nothing to do with this port. It was done by Genki, who also did the Virtua Fighter 3 TB port on the Dreamcast, as well as the Tokyo Extreme Racer 1 and 2 for the DC as well as Super Magnetic Neo. This could have been one of the best home ports of Daytona USA if it weren't for the botched twitchy controls.

Meant to be played with a wheel. Based sega filtering casuals

They made Transformed, one of the best arcade racing games of all time.

Not sure who was responsible for what, but Amusement Vision also developed this and there are definitely some hallmarks of it (Monkey Ball announcer), also not an indictment because their games mostly own too. Daytona 2001's kinda weird though, have to say.

I also prefer wheel but why make a game where thats the only option?

Arcade racing game, and oh man, I'm sorry that sullies the sanctity of the genre for you.

Are you playing emulation or on a real console?
Even Sonic handles like shit in emulation

It was a collaboration between Amusement Vision and Genki. Genki's credited on the game too. I would imagine that Genki may have done the technical aspects, while AV did the game assets, game design and tracks, cars.

That makes it even worse that this is your go to arcade racer.

genki games have dogshit handling across the board. shutoko battle is good for the vibe, but if it was a mediocre NFS underground clone it wouldve been seen as hot garbage.

I couldn't get into most of the TXR games because the handling always felt a bit off, and I couldn't find the right set-up to make it feel right. Strangely, the only one I've actually finished is Street Supremacy, which most TXR fans say is shit (and not retro so I'll stop talking about it).

No, >>10352798 literally say it.
Genki fucked up the graphics of Virtua Fighter 3tb because "hurr durr arcade will always be superior"

>> No.10358630

>>10355873
You can believe what you want but unless you accurately adjust dead zones and the poorer range that the dreamcast stick has then you are going to have a worse controlling game

>> No.10358787

based on the dogshit handling from the CCE edition if i remember correctly. it gave us this, at least
