what's the most effective way to kill these fuckers

>> No.9525008

shoot them

>> No.9525014

Rocket launcher or super nailgun if you're out of the former

>> No.9525018

What were they thinking with these? Why didn't they tweak them slightly? I feel bad for whats-his-name being forced to use them in his maps in ep 4 because everyone realized they would have trashed the earlier eps.

>> No.9525032

Bouncing grenades if you know where they are. Rockets if you're very far away, super nailgun up close. By "up close" I mean not within their self destruct distance. I can't remember if the nails stun them or not.

>> No.9525043

Super Nail Gun + Quad Damage

The only way to deal with them is to know where they are in advance and blow them up before they come at you.
Horrendous ennemies.

Probably something like
>We need another enemy and this is easy to program

I'm pretty sure they were a late addition.

Also I read an old magazine from 1996 that said dragons would be in Quake 1. Either they were bullshitting or something got cut.

Splash damage from behind a corner. Preferably before they start teleporting/"jumping" all over the place.
Also, FUCK the last two maps of episode 4.
>>9525123
Really? I recently beat one of the official mission packs and was kind of confused that it had a dragon in it.

Yeah there's some unused text strings in the Quake 1 source code, for the unfinished dragon and vomitus enemies. Also Shub-Niggurath has a unique death message which is interesting because Shub-Niggurath actually CAN kill you but it just displays a generic "Player died" text.
