I've been replaying the Zelda series. I'm on Spirit Tracks right now. I beat Misadventures of Tron Bonne for the first time, it's a damn good game. I love MML so much it's unreal

>Dr Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
When I was a kid I used to autistically play this game non-stop, I don't even know what's so special about it, was never into Puyo Puyo but this and Dr.Mario kept me coming back

seriously, time is bizarre.
everyone knows that the older you are, the faster time perception goes... but you still can tell that time has passed. Like, sure, if I concentrate, I can tell that 6 months have passed already, but on the other hand I still feel like end of the year 2021 was just a few weeks ago.
It's also super weird when you think about how younger people might experience modern times, like I'm dating a 20 year old girl and to her, the whole pandemic era has been for a while, to me it still feels recent.

How old are you?
Anyway, yeah, it isn't easy to pinpoint... sometimes I feel like certain times feel more distant than others, but when I think about it, 1 year when I was a little kid felt like forever, 1 year when I was a teenager felt like a lot... then by my mid 20s onwards 1 year feels like just a couple months, it no longer feels like "forever".
Sometimes I see something that makes me remember something, and I say "oh yeah, this was X years ago..... wait, so at that time, it's the same amount of time that has passed from Y to Z.... yet it doesn't feel the same"

Most recently, i played Postal 2 for the first time, and finished it on Hestonwolrd. Did it both violently and pacifist. Pacifist was more fun. Gonna give Paradise Lost a shot later.

I went on a gamecube binge earlier in the year and played the PoP trilogy, Twighlight Princess and Wind Waker. Pop 1 and 3 were great, TP was great, WW and PoP 2 sucked.

That is one of those games I replay every 6 months or so.

Finished all of these for the first time:
Kirby's Dream Land
Grim Fandango Remastered
Kirby's Dream Land 2
Fable Anniversary
Kirby Super Star

Was kinda disappointed by Fable considering how much I remember friends hyping up the first game, but I liked the rest. Also in the middle of Kirby's Dream Land 3, but it's a little disappointing coming from Super Star.

Beat for first time:
Super Mario World
Super Mario Land
Sonic 3 Base Game
Starfox 2

Zelda 1

Time is relative and absolute at the same time.
While an hour is an hour for every body, it can happen that this one hour feels like three days for different reasons.
When my nephew was born, it felt like I had to wait several weeks in the waiting area despite it only having been like 13h.
But on the other hand, I still cannot fathom that he's already 8yo despite it being fresh in my memories just like he had been two or three days ago.
There's a reason why the expression "time sure does fly" exists, because you aren't even aware that it's been this long.
I feel stupid to explain such a simple concept to (at least I believe it to be) an adult.

As of now, I've beaten:
>first time
Tales of Destiny
Pokémon Picross (the beta)
Picross 2
Dragon Slayer I (GameBoy)
Super Mario Sunshine
(still playing) Wind Waker afterwards I'll be jumping into TP

>xth time
Tales of Phantasia (at least once per year)
Tales of Symphonia
Mario's Picross
Picross NP Vol.1-7
Mario's Super Picross
Both Zelda Oracle games
Dragon Ball Z Gokuu Hishouden and Gekitouden
Final Fantasy Adventure
Shantae (GBC)
And some ALttP Randomizer, technically for the first time but I've randomized and beat one after another consecutively (keysanity and insane entrance shuffle)

the 2000s started over 20 years ago, retro begins at the two decade mark. It's retro, whether you like it or not.
