/vr/ - Retro Games

I prefer SMB3 and World, but 2 is pretty damn good and the favorite of many a people, it was popular as fuck back in 1988 but it quickly became overshadowed by 3 and World.
Danny from Game Grumps is a big fan of it and can speedrun it even

That's pretty cool but Peach and Luigi are easymode characters and you'd have used them 10 times which isn't that cool.

Why was it madness if it was just a dream? Is dreaming madness? Nearly all of the things in the dream were real. Is the character selection (Mario choosing to be 1 of 4 people) the entire madness component? Was left-scrolling stages a form of madness after living SMB1?

I'm not sure but I'm thinking "Mario Madness" might not be part of the title and just a slogan type of thing, and it's not referring to Mario himself having "madness", but that there is a "mario madness" going on, and it's true, SMB was a sensation in the mid 80s so when SMB2 dropped the whole world went crazy about it. Then it happened again with SMB3, then with World, then with 64... not so much with Sunshine I guess.

My friend (who has been playing video games all his life, and is somewhat good at fighting game) can't into platformers for some reason. I've seen him struggle and give up in 1-3 of SMB.. no joke.
