We've always known this. It was the sole complaint about the game for most people back then. Everyone pretending it's a recent complaint are actual zoomers trying to fit in. Just like the zoomers trying to pretend TMNT NES wasn't well loved and not just popular because TMNT was popular at the time. The "best tournament fighting game ever for the Super NES" and "Super NES game of the year" has naturally achieved what no other game could: PERFECT graphics and sound! Nothing could look or sound better than this medium-quality port of a pretty good arcade game!

It's no wonder that all six Power editors endorse it. Even the RPG lady. She knows in her heart that those silly old-fashioned hand-drawn graphics and extremely high quality tunes are obsolete, now that we can look at perfect pre-rendered graphics and listen to something or other that's playing alongside perfect pre-rendered graphics.

(Donkey Kong Country was only almost perfect, with a 4.9/5, because in that game there were not any highly reflective floors that you could see an upside-down Diddy in)

It's interesting how Nintendo Power has begun passing judgment on content ratings stuff like this. They kept saying Doom didn't REALLY deserve its Mature rating, while True Lies and (I think?) Demolition Man had a lot of bloody gun battles that might distress some people. Maybe they are trying to provide purchasing guidance to concerned parents or something? But surely parents usually wouldn't bother to read about the kids' games to begin with...

Xbox One is a lame name because that was the nickname for the original Xbox before they decided to actually name their 8th gen console like that.

At least Xbox 360 makes sense from a marketing standpoint. It was competing against the PlayStation 3 and calling it the "Xbox 2" would've make it seemed like it was a number behind.

Super GB effects were pretty minimal. You could change the colors of the sprites how you wanted but were limited to 4 colors, iirc. There were also like 10 optional borders around the screen. That's about it. Very few games, like the Donkey Kong one, actually got special unique borders or more colors. The big thrill, really, was just being able to play the games on a TV screen so you could actually see wtf was going on, and not having to worry about batteries.
