There were not many RPGs for Genesis because of the low system sales in Japan. And there were good Sega-published RPGs that Sega never brought over, probably because they thought they wouldn’t sell. Genesis is an early example of Japan not understanding the western market but still somehow muddling along.

Phantasy Star 1-3 were Master System games on a Megadrive cart that took advantage of backwards compatibility, Pier Solar came out like 15 years after the console died and Rent-a-hero was japan only.
