Kaeru AKA Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru AKA For the Frog the Bell Tolls - Nintendo (Game Boy)
I'm not really sure if this one counts since they specifically say it's not likely to come to the US. But I'll do it anyways. Augusta Golf AKA New 3D Golf Simulation - Harukanaru Augusta - T&E Soft(SNES)
Super Famicom golf game that was mentioned when the SNES was first showcased in issue 26, but didn't get ported over. No fan translation exists.

Battle Dodge Ball AKA Battle Dodge Ball - Toukyuu Daigekitotsu! - Bandai(SNES)
RPGish dodgeball game featuring characters from Gundam, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider. No fan translation exists.

Gadulin AKA Gdleen - Seta(SNES)
Sci-fi RPG based off of Jikō Wakusei Gdleen series. First RPG made for the SNES, plain like Dragon's Quest but decent music. Aeon Genesis has said they started work on it, but no translation exists yet.

SD The Great Battle - Bandai(SNES)

Blaster Master 2 - Sunsoft(SNES)
I have no idea why, but this game didn't end up coming to the SNES after all. Instead it was developed by Software Creations, and released on the Genesis.

Ultrabots: Sanction Earth - Novalogic(SNES)
A first person mech combat game that was going to run at 16FPS. Yes. Eventually they decided this was a stupid idea and just made it for DOS in 1995.

Might and Magic II - American Sammy(SNES)
Announced as being ported to the SNES, and it did. In Europe. And there was a unique Super Famicom version as well. The SuFami version takes some liberties and takes away some of the player's choices, but is neat all the same. Railroad Tycoon - Microprose(SNES)
Yes, there was going to be a port of Railroad Tycoon to the SNES. There was even screenshots as late as 1993, but the game was never released. No sign of the prototype the screenshots came from have surfaced either.

Radio Flyer - Ocean(SNES)
So Ocean decided to make a game based off of a drama movie about child abuse. Most likely the reason why it got cancelled before it got beyond a few screenshots. No sign of the prototype exists.

Joe Vs. The Wall - Ocean(SNES)
Mostly unknown puzzle game of some kind announced around the same time as the Push-Over port. Was apparently shown off at one of the CES shows, but no sign of the prototype.

Romancing SaGa - Square(SNES)

Robosaurus - THQ(SNES)
Following that crappy Bigfoot NES game, there was going to be a monster truck game about Robosaurus, which was mildly popular at the time(and parodied in Simpsons as Truckosaurus). Some screenshots exist, nothing else does. Apparently it involved fighting aliens by smashing them as Robosaurus and burning them with his fire breath. Sounded better than the Bigfoot game at least.

Special Tee Shot - Nintendo(SNES)
Was mentioned, but in the end they just released it for the Super Famicom exclusive Satellaview. The game was later reskinned and majorly altered to become Kirby's Dream Course. There was also a prototype stand-alone version created but didn't get released in the end. Fables & Fiends - Virgin(SNES)
Yes, Fables & Fiends: The Legend of Kyrandia was originally going to be an SNES game. Then Westwood Studios realized DOS would offer more graphical and sound capabilities and switched over. Virgin was their publisher at the time, and published the finished version of the game.

Dragon Quest V - Enix(SNES)
One of the more popular entries in the DQ series and the first SNES entry, the US didn't get it until the DS port. You can play that, or one of the two fan translations. And that's all the announced(or mentioned) SNES games up to this point and the one GB game in these two issues. Now we're current, so next storytime might not have any mentions. We'll find out then.

Looking forward to the next issue where they cover the original Mega Man. That was something I wish NP had done more of near the end of the NES's lifespan. Gone in-depth on some major games from before the release of the magazine to give them proper coverage. They did it for Metroid and Mega Man, would have been nice if they had done it for games like Goonies II or Kid Icarus.

I just glanced at GameFAQs and it seems like the big thresholds are at one coin and ten coins: Below one you spin out upon collision, and at ten or above you have your maximal top speed. Even at this late date, all three NES TMNT games are in the top games list. Also Zelda 2 and Mario 2... so much for that "black sheep of the series" idea. That said, we have lost Simon's Quest. But the first Castlevania is gone as well, for what that's worth.

Actually I'm surprised that Mega Man is still up there. Maybe the relatively recent release of Mega Man IV prompted a lot of players to vote for every game in the series? Or maybe it prompted people to buy it because they wanted the whole series, and that swelled its score from the dealers?

I don't think "kingdom" is a game name there? I know they released Utopia because I played it as a kid. It wasn't very good I think. I only played King Arthur's World as an adult on an emulator; that one is decent. The concept is cool but I vaguely remember thinking that the puzzles needed more refinement.
