This is genuine retro, so dont expect any of these kids to have any insight.

That fat stupid dinosaur was my childhood that I wasted playing the c64 version. I only rented the NES version.

>> No.7859583

Everyone likes Bubble Bobble. Puzzle Bobble is fine I guess.

>> No.7859590

My first encounter with Puzzle Bobble was at a small arcade, but it was called "Bust-A-Move". I liked it so much I rented a "Bust-A-Move" Puzzle Bobble game for PS1. I eventually had a later Puzzle Bobble game and my gross brother was being horny at one of the characters. I eventually installed Mandrake 9.2 and became aware of a free clone called Frozen Bubble. Used to play it on my phone, but the levels got repetitive after clearing all of them a few times, and I have tiktok and duolingo now

the C64 BB is mediocre don't get why it always appears on C64 top game lists. the NES one is ok but the sprite flicker drives you nuts after a while.

Puzzle bobble has aged way better specially when playing with a fren.
Bobble bobble has the tune that gets stuck in your head.

>don't get why it always appears on C64 top game lists
Maybe it's because it's a good port for an underpowered system. C64 specs weren't precisely good, remember it's a 1982 machine.

I love them. My mother's favorite game is Puzzle Bobble(Diablo for PS1 being the second one), which was called Bust-a-move for some random reason.

Another great game. I love those single screen platforms, mate.

>> No.7859863

The bobble games are pretty damn good (Minus that DS one), I like the puzzle bobble games better if I had to be honest though.

I think it was called Bust-a-move because they were scared a bobble game wouldn't sell, and they wanted to cash in on some song's popularity. Didn't help that there was already an unrelated rhythm game named Bust a move in Japan, that had to be renamed to Bust a groove in the US due to the name bullshit.
The worst thing is that they literally got rid of the Bobble references in one American arcade release of Bust a move again, and made it generic themed. Thankfully they rectified this in the home versions and they had the bubble dragons.

Bubble Bobble exists so that I can enjoy Puzzle Bobble

They made the right choices for the time. I may not have played the arcade version if it were cutesy, because it was the 90s.

>> No.7859998

My dad had an old DOS port, I think it was DOS at least. We played it a bunch together on some old PC at least.

Bubblun is so cute... ;_;

I once cut out a picture of bub and made it into a badge at school. Also did one of the last ninja. Cut them out of zzap64. No wonder I never really was popular...

I imagine anyone who doesn't like Bubble Bobble is an insufferable edgelord, or simply never got the good ending by beating the game with two players.

It was cutesy here and I played it. I gave no shit if the game was good.

Yes. I used to own a Jap Bubble Bobble arcade board. I bought it off of a friend who had won the board in a competition. Came in a nice steel case with a top that had a pattern similar to the old Reebok Graphlite running shoes.

How dare you compare bub and bob to ponyshit. Bubble Symphony is real hood classic.

>> No.7865861

There's this single screen korean bootleg where you can pick a girl with a gun or a boy with martial arts close range combos, the gameplay is unplayable garbage but I really loved that co-op synergy concept.
