>What is MiSTer?

MiSTer is an open project that aims to recreate various classic computers, game consoles and arcade machines, using modern hardware. It allows software and game images to run as they would on original hardware, using peripherals such as mice, keyboards, joysticks and other game controllers.

PSX is confirmed basically working on a dev platform that is less powerful than the DE10 - however the primary developer has apparently quit due to community drama and no one (trustworthy) has picked up the mantle. The former may come back to it eventually, and there's someone else who may also take over, but for now all work has ground to a halt.
Saturn core is still in active development and the most recent update shows it booting the BIOS.

Chances are we'll see both finished within 12-18 months, but regardless there's definitely life in the old MiSTer yet.

I want to try to make pic related work as a MiSTer case, it kind of has that "90's console" vibe to it.

Nevermind I looked it up.

You can just use one of these ATX breakout adapters. They supply a 5v out line. So from there you'd just rip the male end of a 2.5mm barrel plug (you could just rip it from the ac adapter that comes with the DE-10 but these things aren't expensive) and connect the power and ground cables from that into the adapter.

7829789

>>7829776
Of course then there's the matter of getting the MiSTer to actually turn on using the case's power button. The PC case most likely uses a momentary switch, so you'd need a latching flipflop adapter board.

I used this relay -https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/1005001803622896.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.2dc9b90a2ywFus and it worked pretty well.

So what you'd to here is, get two strips of wire to plug the Input jacks from the relay into the ATX 5v out, and then plug's cable on the Relay's Output, which will plug into the DE-10 Nano.

You wouldn't require any soldering for this, as the relay uses screws. Here's a pic of the case I did.

Just because you're retarded enough to buy a prebuilt PC doesn't mean the dudes who buy superior parts for a fraction of the price and build it themselves like lego are equally stupid.

You could argue this metaphor falls down a little because of the current scalping going on with graphics cards, but buying a prebuilt attracts even more of a premium because they're fed by the same stymied supply chains, so it's still valid.

The MiSTer platform is built around a DE10 Nano. Which is an educational tool you can buy one from major electronic sales companies like the manufacturer Terasic, or Mauser, or Digikey, et al.
The add-on boards are open source, which you can absolutely build yourself if you want to mint a PCB and order the individual parts. Or just buy one off a random dude on aliexpress for less.

Total cost is like half the price you quoted from the eBay scalper. And that's only because you waited until the silicon shortage affected the price of the DE10 units. I got my mainboard for $105.

Even the most purists that only swear with og hardware has been convinced by what MISTer is able to do after trying it.

>TS-Config was a clone of ZX Evolution, a successor to ATM Turbo, a clone of Pentagon, a clone of ZX Spectrum
>sounds pretty clear

>try to load it in TSConf core

I'm curious about the Wonderswan beta core, but I don't know any games for the system. Anything worth checking out?

what happened?

Like another person posted it wasn't community-drama but issues he had with the guy he was working with on the project. We don't really know what happened because Laxer3a just said "fuck this" and both him and ultraembedded posted all the work they had done and fucked off

Two guys working on PS1 core could not agree on their team work and told each other to fuck off. As such the project is currently on hold.
Meanwhile srg320 keeps working alone on the Saturn core, without constant hyping and big personalities involved.
