Is it possible that a defective console could be causing a light gun to shoot inaccurately too far to the right?

>> No.7791816

It would be more likely the light gun.

>> No.7791823

It's more possible you're aim is just shit bro

Have ps1 both (2) light guns shoot too far to the right.
I think i am the only person that has this problem
I know its not the guns. I dont want to buy another ps1 to test it.
It cant be the tv thats the problem.
All my other light guns on different consoles work fine.

>> No.7791974

Op here. I just put the ps1 game and my ps1 light gun into my ps2. Still having the same problem. This doesn't make sense because i tested 3 guns and they all shoot inaccurate.
Its only ps1 games that have this problem for me. Im fucked.

>> No.7791982

>>7791928
might be because your TV has a 3D comb filter that adds a few nanoseconds of lag

>> No.7792008

>>7791982
Im changing my mind to the light guns are bad. Because the one has a plug for saturn and ps1 and its inaccurate too.
I have saturn and dreamcast guns that are perfectly accurate. I just got bad luck and the two ps1 light guns i bought are both bad. I just found a ps1 gun on ebay thats brand new never been opened. So this should be the right test.

Would those be the newer crts with grey plastic ? The people on YouTube with working light guns are using the older crts with black plastic.

clean the lens on the gun with alcohol and turn up the brightness on the tv and ensure there is no glare. With light guns you have throw aesthetics out the window.

Ill try it but turning up the brightness sounds terrible.

>> No.7792446

I always assume the game has a calibration option on these. How is it supposed to know from the start?

Possible, yes. Probable, no.

It would be more likely the faggot OP.

There doesn't seem to be anything unique or special about this set:
http://www.broksonic.com/mainCTgv-2727.htm

It should work with all light guns

>>7792008
Good luck. Some games have a calibration routine you can run. It's been so long I can't remember if guncon games have that. You could poke around in the settings and make sure no weird video settings are on. Make sure you disable any color correction. Try them in a dark room with the brightness a bit higher than usual.

>> No.7793049

Given your other guns work I doubt it's the brightness, because the Guncons are generally superior when it comes to lower brightness levels.

The non-Namco guns are famously awful, though. I've got a Justifier, which needs large brightness boosts to be even vaguely usable, and a Jolt gun, which is just straight up terrible.

Guncons pretty much never go bad, though. Unless you're doing something obviously retarded like not connecting the C-sync cable.

I dont think the games have an actual calibration thing. Like in the crypt killer options they have a screen of a target you can shoot but its not calibration.
>>7793049
Gun con and justifer are not accurate for me. They shoot 2 inches to the right. But my sega saturn and dreamcast guns are right on.

>> No.7793406

>>7793363
Namco games like Time Crisis and Point Blank start with calibration screens.
If the guncon is only off by two inches, you will still be able to accurately calibrate it on your 27" TV and play them.
You might be out of luck playing other software and using that shitty Justifier you bought though.

Make sure the TV screen is on the same height/level as the gun or else it will be inaccurate.

Source: me, who found that out while playing Time Crisis

I will try time crisis. Do you need the pedal ?
Yea games like maximum force and area 51 arent going to work. But they work fine on saturn. But i did just order a new gun for $60 . Its never been opened and works with ps1 and saturn. Made by innovation.

>> No.7793706

>>7793697
Looks like cheap chinky shit, like most PS1 lightguns. Best of luck to you.
Guncon doesn't have a pedal, you just use the side buttons, or you can put a controller in port 2 and press any of the face buttons with your foot.

>> No.7793719

>>7792320
This is usually what the issue is, but depending on your CRT, it might not be "brightness"

On Sony CRTs it's "Picture". Essentially you want to turn up the CRTs output to make it easier for the light gun to read it.

The more light for the light gun to see, the better it can do its job.

>> No.7794329

>>7791805
If it's any consolation, my gun also tends to the right. I don't know what that similar anecdote could mean but maybe it could mean it just has something to do with the gun?

>> No.7794597

>>7791805
So I hear these don't work with modern TVs. That fucking sucks, because I found my old G-Con 2 in a drawer and I'd love to play Time Crisis 2 again.
It was like having a free arcade cabinet in your house.

If you have component inputs, plug your yellow composite cable into the green port. It will display the video in greyscale but you can test if it still shoots off to the side.
