I love this game so damn much. It's not so much the story or game play, it's the barren haunting industrial milieu. I love wandering the architecture of the game, I love the weird noises, I love playing for two hours in total isolation until I randomly come across a terrified scientist hiding in their office, terrified to move.

I hate how the ugly soviet shithole aesthetic of the sequel became the lasting look for the series.

I tried to enjoy it but there was some part where i just couldnt get the guy to grab the obvious ladder he was supposed to grab so i assumed that was the wrong way, so i spent like an hour looking throughout the map for the way to go until i gave up, when i found out that that ladder was the right way i unninstalled the game, im sure if I played as a kid my patience for this kind of shit would be infinite but not anymore
