Definitely does not need a sequel although I see a bunch of potential to explore the bottom area with all the lost civilization there. A sequel could work if done right.

A remake could be great though. I'd love the idea of exploring the skies in modern HD and actually seeing all the discoveries in all their glory.

Combat is slow as fuck for sure. Rest of the game is fun. I liked the story and the side content the most. Combat sucks ass. Your best move is to use unlock speed in an emu during fights and if you need to grind, wait until later and go to loopy land for easy grind.

they should improve the ship combat. once you figured out you could just use healing magic on the ship and didnt have to use items all the tension went out of the window, youd have to be a total dumbass to loose any fights

To be fair, NiGHTS received a very nice PS2 remake that was made HD later, there’s also spiritual successor stuff like Rodea and now (one would think) Balan Wonderworld. Space Channel 5 did receive a sequel on the PS4, at least in VR. Phantasy Star is supposed to have ended with IV, I believe? We did get PSO2 eventually too, not all that bad.

Games absolutely fantastic. Been playing it again recently. I'm about 40 hours in/Silver Shrine. Been taking my time and I don't mind the combat at all. You just have to go with the flow.
