For one, making sure your fucking video aspect ratio is correct. No matter what fucking setting I change I cannot get this stupid piece of shit to give me an aspect ratio without black bars. My only solution is to modify the Windowed Scale setting, and immediately, it fixes the issue - but it doesn't fucking stick no matter how many configurations I "save".

I'm a hardcore Retroarch fan when it fucking works. What the hell is going on? All I want are for my games to start in a non retarded aspect ratio. N64 still runs like fucking garbage too. Why the fuck do I even use this shit?

Attach miniature theater curtains to the sides of your display to cover the unused part.

I mean, yeah. They do.

Are you sure you're not retarded anon? N64 especially had a lot of games that didn't use the full resolution and had natural letterboxes that were often just covered by overseas. If youre using parallel then there's an option for accounting for that

I don't know, works on my machine at 4k

This isn't an N64 game. It's Puyo Puyo Tsu for the Genesis.

I did nothing, and it fixed itself. Yay!

Maybe the emulator core itself + auto aspect ratio or something has to do with it. Idk, RA confuses me too.

That's the same aspect ratio though. What am I missing

Possibilities:
>Retroarch needs admin privileges to write to certain folders
>you need to save a core override in the overrides quick menu
>you need to use RA's video settings/scaling in the settings menu, not quick menu

>> No.7139612

>>7138279
Based retard. There's scaling options that you can save per game and core, and the cores usually have 8:7/4:3 and first/last line options which can also be saved per game. Some hardcore fan you goddamn idiot.

Retroarch has a really obtuse design. It doesn't even have a function to map your buttons to the system's controller. You have to map your buttons in the main menu input section, then assign them to the system's controller using the menu in the core's input section. Lol even mednafen has a better system.
