Ok, whilst 2001 Tropico1 is still very much retro.
It uses the Railroad Tycoon 2 engine from 1998, and was already looking failry dated on it's release.
Having said that I think it's the best out of the series in terms of being an actual challenging game - I've tried all the later ones, but always go back to Tropico 1 for a quick dirty game.

Pity there's no open-source version to have a few more variety with the buildings.

Anyone else enjoy this classic?
