the only game worth owning on VB. they needed 4 or 5 games of this quality on launch day and VB might of had a chance... launching it with Mario Tennis (a glorified tech demo) doomed it to failure

Eh, Mario Tennis is a fine title. Not really a tech demo, it's just an arcadey tennis game.
Also, as much as I love Wario Land (and is probably the objective best game on the system), my favorite is actually Teleroboxer.

Wario Land justifies me not selling my VB, brilliant fucking platformer and uses the 3D effect extremely well.
What other games should I buy? I've wanted Jack Bros for a long time but people have recommended the Galactic Pinball one to me

Honestly I think pretty much all of the VB library is decent, the only game I'd avoid would be Waterworld.
Investing on a flash cart would also be a good idea since there's homebrew games, and dumps of unreleased games like Bound High.

Bound High also looked great to me and I enjoyed the music, played a bit of Hyper Fighting on a friend's unit too. I'll probably pick one up soon using my Trumpbux

Most of the games on VB are good. The problem was not the games, but rather the device itself.

To be honest, the Virtual Boy was probably too fucked up to ever survive, but maybe I just have shittier than average eyeballs

>> No.6619242

i've never seen a virtual boy in real life, it wasn't until recently i found out the reason why, it flopped so fast that it didn't even make it to my country at all
probably a good thing though, because i probably would have wanted it

-- oh man, the though of getting this instead of a gameboy and pokemon is crazy
the vb didn't stand a chance against pokemon

the virtua boy used to get super hot and turn your eyes red if you didn't back off

Wario

Warioware > Smash Bros > Wario Woods> Mario & Wario > Wario Land > Wario World

>> No.6620227

VB Wario Land is good, but not that good. It's like a watered down version of SMB1, although the graphics are great, the levels and linear with few treasures and secrets to find.

The idea to let you combine the flamethrower and flying suits together is great however, since nobody would use the flamethrower suit in the first Wario Land.

Well Nintendo rushed it out so they could have a stopgap console to stop the momentum of the saturn and PS1 because the N64 kept getting delayed. Because it was rushed out Yokoi left Nintendo and joined Bandai to make another excellent handheld, then Nintendo killed him.
