Daily reminder: PC games go by release date, NOT platform date, otherwise current-year PC games such as Doom Eternal would be allowed on /vr/, and so any PC game after 1999 is banned.

There's no way you're getting Doom Eternal running on Win98, or with any pre-2000 hardware.

>>6593379
Yes but as long no one actually talks about OP's game this thread is allowed to stay up

Let me ask you guys this:
Worms World Party came out in 2001 on PC and Dreamcast. On PC it runs on Win9x/2k/ME/XP.
Do you consider both the PC and Dreamcast versions of this game retro or only the Dreamcast version?

>> No.6593423

>>6593416
No one cares about your hypothetical situations and you're embarrassing yourself trying so hard to prove a point. You're not getting 6th gen here, end of story.

>> No.6593426

>>6593416
Only Dreamcast. The PC version lacks soul and belongs to /v/

>>6593427
Ok I'll answer. No, it's not retro. Why? To keep out 6th gen scum like you and also to make you buttblasted.

Assuming the the PC version runs an unmodified 90's computer, no. For PC, it only takes into consideration the game's year of release and the only reason this thread will stay up is because no one is discussing Hitman.
Otherwise, CS 1.6 would also be allowed here. Assuming the mods don't just randomly delete threads purely based on which games they dislike

>>6593434
>unmodified '90s computer
What does this mean? Computers are all about modifying the hardware, software, etc. lol

>> No.6593447

>>6593442
Even if this were true, Worms World Party would still not be allowed here, as it was released on PC in 2001

>> No.6593449

>>6593416
you are aware this thread is about a non-/vr/-legal pc-only (released after 1999) vidya, right?

We straight up just need mods to intervene and clarify the rule-set on PC games. I'm a more inclusive guy, and I think extending the scope of discussion a little bit is better than taking a hard line on PC title release dates. But these kind of bullshit bad faith threads are just going to keep popping up because they are just designed to provoke a response. Actual mod intervention is necessary.

Mods are cucks and won't talk, so this back and forth shit'll go on forever.

This would be good for everyone from any side. Not only it would clarify the rules, it would also avoid unfair bans.
