Unfair? If anything Sector Z is too forgiving, the regular ships don't impede you at all as you take clear shots at the missiles; they just "swarm" Great Fox. You can also have Katt help you, which ironically is detrimental to you if you're good because she can steal score.

What's worse is if you somehow get careless on Area 6 or Venom and have to take down Star Wolf with the single laser.

Sector Z is unfair only in the sense that it's VERY easy for one of your wingmates to get the last hit on one of the missiles. My general strategy is to leave enough of the small fry fighters to keep the rest of the gang occupied while downing the missiles myself.

If you want a real challenge, try earning a medal on Venom I. Good luck pulling that off without a full stock of bombs and hyper lasers.

I always thought your allies should add to your score with their kills. It would be a much better incentive to keep them alive.

I don't, but if you're in Sector Z, you most likely came from Zoness, with the only other option being an awkward warp from Sector X.
