I think not including Sonic Adventure is a good idea - most of the above still look & play really well, Sonic not so much. Including it could draw attention away from how amazing the rest of the Dreamcast catalogue was.

True, it’d be a big admission that Sega didn't get it quite right at the time, but they could probably meme their way out of that one.

More importantly, more than half of the above could have some kind of online play. If the price is reasonable, I think there'd be quite a few people willing to pay for it.

It's the perfect time for it - online access is cheap & fast, mini consoles get a lot of publicity and there's quite a bit of fond nostalgia for Sega at the moment. It won't happen, but I wish it would.

I had a really hard time putting this together. The dreamcast has a fuckhuge library and is a lot of different things to a lot of people. You can't possibly satisfy all of the console's many niche fanbases with just 20 games. My philosophy was to collect an assortment of games that screamed dreamcast and keep games that had ports on other consoles(at the time) to a minimum. With exceptions for games that were obscenely good.

Nerds don't play sports games but if they did they'd probably know that the DC was the only console that did, and likely will ever have, a basically arcade-perfect port of NFL Blitz 99/2000. By the time it made it to PS2, it was console only and the physics/appearance of the game changed a fair amount. It makes the N64 and PS1 versions unplayable in comparison. This would be a must-have imo

I pretty much only bought it for Shenmue and a couple of japanese wrestling games. Damn the Dreamcast had fantastic wrestling games with Fire Pro Wrestling D, Giant Gram 2, Giant Gram 2000 and maybe Toukon Retsuden 4 too. But damn did all the western wrestling games suck ass. I got WWE Royal Rumble but only endured 30 min and never touched that game again.

Yeah I played Warzone and Attitude on the PS1 when nothing better was available. But these were rather shitty wrestling games and the Acclaim Engine was just horrible. Giant Gram on the Dreamcast was one of the few examples when I accepted this controlling scheme with button combinations and combos. But I usually prefer proper wrestling gameplay with grapples etc. I already wrote that Toukon Retsuden 4 was only kinda adequate on the Dreamcast, since IMO this was the moment when Yuke's games started to fall apart.

But anyway I doubt that we'll find wrestling games either the good japanese ones or the mediocre to awful western ones in one of those Mini emulation consoles because of all the licensing garbage going on. Even rereleasing the old ones might be troublesome and require some altering to remove the expired licensed music and likenesses of wrestlers.

Beside the usually unlicensed Fire Pro Wrestling Games, was there any old game
of that genre rereleased? Despite using fictionalised wrestlers even Fire Pro run into copyright problems at some point (the western releases of the two GBA titles) and just as described above had to alter the appearance of fighters (and even rings) even further than just the usual route of only renaming them.
