Between this, Sonic, and Battletoads how did a company responsible for some of the most memorable IPs in game go out of fashion?

The Game Boy slowly kept eating away at their relevance, and once they became backlit too that was pretty much their death knell. Smartphones pilled twelve feet of dirt atop their coffin.

>how did a company responsible for some of the most memorable IPs in game go out of fashion?
Tiger Electronics is not responsible for the Sonic IP, the Double Dragon IP, nor Battletoads.
Sonic the Hedgehog was created by Sega, Battletoads by Rare, and Double Dragon by Technōs.

That... Isn't how it works. Developers worked closely with Electronics to bring these games to life. The amount of passion that goes into making a piece of hardware like Sonic or Watchcraft doesn't come from greed. It takes heart.

The real joke here, of course, is on OP and the other dumbasses eating up meme youtubers' bullshit They are getting paid to have an opinion that will get the most views, usually this means being as dramatic as possible. They are really one of the worst things to have ever happened to retro gaming.

every single one i played i fucking hated. the one exception was when i somehow acquired a blackjack one. that is something that actually WORKS on this shit platform. cuz it simply shows the cards and you can hit or pass. simple but effective. some awful shit like megaman2 or castlevania makes me wanna jump into traffic. theyre HORRIBLE. i'd rather just scribble on a piece of paper.

>> No.5900605

I don't think I've played any decent Tiger games. They don't have good controls, they don't have clear objectives and they don't keep you playing. It's a shame because there's many unusual licenses on it. But I think the Nintendo LCD games still games hold up well. How about the Konami games, were there any good ones and was Turtles the best?

Beyond the iron curtain it was the same. But with russian (http://www.pica-pic.com/#/nu_pogodi/)) and other eastern block (and probably chinese manufactured) LCD-games. Those were all the rage on east german school yards.

It looks like many of those game are playable online now too:

had double dragon 2 and enjoyed it cause it was simple and intuitive (move forward, baddie/s appear, beat them, move forward to next bunch of baddies etc etc)
if they had just kept to this basic method they might not have been so notorious (not good, but not as bad as they became). instead they kept putting out games that were undecipherable for no good reason
