Hey,
I went out and picked up an aftermarket AV cable for my SNES but it outputs this shuttering, swaying, mostly black and white image that colors sometimes fades in and out of. No audio. RF adapter works great.

It's most likely the cables, right? What would be the chance the signal from the SNES is bad?

looks like cable, I had similar issue with av cable

>> No.5845414

Have you tried using that A/V in on the front?

What's happening in my setup is I have a bunch of consoles running into an 8-way AV switch, so it shouldn't be that. Even when I was using the RF cable, it was through the VCR, which in turn was being ran through the switch box.

That’s some retarded shit you have going on there.

>> No.5845469

I am so sorry I made this thread because it turns out I'm an absolute fucking retard. I manhandled the cable and jammed it into the SNES upside-down.

It's fine now, but I did lose 3 screws taking it apart. I'm a jackass.

Sorry for derailing but I bought a Sony Trinitron PVM-8042Q and I live in the UK, but the guy who sent it didn't include the AC IN cable, how fucked am I? I figured it doesn't warrant its own thread and I've never posted on /vr/ before so sorry if I'm being a retard.

No offense, m8, but are you genuinely this retar-- okay, apology accepted, just literally look up ac on cable, it's the same shit that goes into your PC. You have a laptop, don't you.

The issue I was having was I was worried if I put a UK kettle lead cable into it that the voltage would fuck it kek
I just attempted it before visiting the thread again and reading this. Jesus Christ I've gotta go read and watch videos on the rest of the shit I need to get to make this function with my SNES and GameCube

It looks like the one you're looking for. You can read the voltage it accepts on the back of the device, it usually says something like AC 110/230V 50~60Hz. If it's not there, you can check its manual. I think they should accept EU voltage.

It is 120V only. Use the 12V input and adapter.

The guide notch can be quite nominal (or the whole connector be warpy&loose enough) on shit quality cables.
