Real Bout Special/2 seems to have a bit of a following on /vr/, which I find somewhat vindicating because it was almost completely ignored by magazines at the time. And the only arcade version of it I’ve ever seen was in my house. I loved it. I’m not shitting on Fatal Fury 3 (best intro ever!), but I’ve always considered Real Bout the lemonade SNK made out of that lemon.

Wasn’t FF3 rushed to market because of an earthquake or tsunami or something?

I know. I could have done with a fourth. Add some new characters, have it NOT be in Mexico. Fix some of the janky animations, like say, Wyler’s animation after he gets knocked down.

I love fat fury 3. Its one of the most fun single player fighters around. Music is fantastic too in that game.

Oh. Is that why? Okay, never knew that. I got KoF ‘95 with my Neo CD. I don’t remember if it was in the box... I do remember the box not having anything on it about an included game.

Also, KoF ‘95! Another underrated game. I think you can divide KoF into three era. 94-95, 96-2000, and then everything after that. 94-95 had those IREM looking backgrounds. It was awesome.

94 was literally made by IREM people. They made Last Resort, then Top hunter, then KOF94.

I remember the first time i saw KOF94 at the arcade i was like... OK that looks A LOT like 'In the Hunt'. Both games had this heavy metallic shading going on.

those two games will always have a special place in my heart. I just love the colorful design and artstyle. And it plays great, too.

If they decide to make a new FF, I'm hoping they'll take the RB games as the basis.

Breakers Revenge. God, I love that game. Sho is super busted. The game has some of the most ridiculous hit properties.

AOF3 is a game I desperately want to like, but it's so jank. Never was able to get into it.
Game's fucking gorgeous though, even if some of the animations are goofy.

why this game is completely ignored while fatal fury special is really popular is few jap arcades. what did ffsp did right? in ffsp few chars even have 100% combos or guaranteed dizees.
