I enjoy the first two main games and the three Gaiden and FEDA. The series did not work well in 3D.

Thanks for reminding me that i wanted to play Shining in the Darkness. Also played a bit of SF1, might get around to finishing it at some point.

first was slightly easier, second is best balanced and story

One of my favorite series. I can't decide if I like 2 or 3 the most, but they're all great.

post your completion of Shining Force 2, superhard setting, without losing any troops.

>> No.5625990

Wasn't superhard a bit easier than regular hard?
I remember some funny shit about enemies acting smarter but losing the bonus damage buffs from Hard or something

The whole difficult settings was fucked up.

Normal was actually easy mode. I don't know if they didn't want to shame the player, or if they were scared of people complaining about the game being too hard, but that was the result.
Ouch is the normal mode. Since the difficulty menu is unordered, you can only judge them by the name. You'd think ouch is the hardest settings, but it isn't, it just makes the enemies slightly less retarded.
Hard and super works as you'd expect though.

I wish this game was good. The concept and the art direction are excellent but everything's just so broken.
And it's baffling how the Saturn remake made almost everything worse.

Imagine outing yourself by sheer ignorance of the game the adults are talking about.

The Shining Force 3 trilogy games are probably the best strategy RPGs of all time.

Shining in the Darkness would greatly benefit of an automap hack.
Tried playing it some months ago but I didn't have enough patience to it now but I could see the fun on it.

What didn't work is 3d? It's a fucking simple turn-based game. SF3 is great.

Shining Force 3 felt slower to me and we only got one part out of three in the west. Other than the novelty of Shining Force in 3D, the series got nothing from being in 3D and Sega quit making them SRPG shortly after that.

Does anyone know how to play Shining Force 3 on emulator? I've tried literally every ROM of it I could find and none of them worked on Mednafen for me.

FUCK i hate Saturn emulation so much.

To elaborate, I'm pretty sure my BIOS are correct, but when I drag the .cue file onto Mednafen either this happens or it says the file is too big
