What's your favorite Arkanoid game? Is the knob controller essential to enjoying the game or are you fine with a dpad?

The NES version is kind of shit. It doesn't even have the intro sequence.

Most home conversions of arcade games at the time were ass, but Arkanoid usually came out pretty good. It's a simple game though, not a lot to it. Only really bad port I can think of was the Atari 8-bit one because it was made by a British shovelware dev who didn't gaf.

Gosh, the nostalgia!
I had it back in the day with the knob controller. I was surprised to learn back then that it could be played with the regular one.
When I finally sold my NES and my 300+ games in the early 90s, the Arkanoid controller by far brought in the most $$$.

I like the PS1 one a lot. I wish I was better at the NES one but stage 3 usually completely fucks me up
