Mutation Nation is nice but Night Slashers is the better game, Mutation Nations final stage is just a damn boss rush and nothing more and it features the biggest joke of a final boss ever.

There are flaws though, and I'm saying this as someone who can regularly 1cc this game. This game is full of infinites and exploits and just plain dumb bosses. Another flaw is that this game is severely lacking in weapons which are a staple of the genre. As a matter of fact ,there isn't a single melee weapon that you can pick up. The only weapons are stupid-looking projectiles. Can you imagine Final Fight without Cody's knifing? Streets of Rage 2 without Max's back slashing? Alien vs. Predator without the rifles and rocket launchers? Cadillacs and Dinosaurs without the guns and bazookas and shit. The Punisher without the axes and swords and lances and flamethrowers and so on? Yeah, this game has none of that, and that right there is a flaw considering that "pick-up-able" weapons have been a staple since Double Dragon.

Second, I fucking hate the enemy death animations. They just melt. This game lacks impact or "oomph". It doesn't even feel like you're busting heads, the cathartic quality of punching faces is very low in this game. Imagine a SHMUP without massive explosions and BOOM sound effects. That's what this game feels like. This game feels like I'm playing patty-cakes on enemies, not punching the shit out of them.

It's still a fun game though, but there are about a dozen other beataroonies that I'd rather play instead.
