They suck but they were ahead of their time

Now we have Temple Run + a billion always-running 2d platformers on smart phones, even Flappy Bird is kinda similar. who could guess that these annoying levels would become the gold standard of casual gaming.

Kind of an odd trope to pick out of the bunch but I can say the only memorable one for me was the rollercoaster level in DKC2. Tropical Freeze has some good ones as well, the ones that stood out for me was a sawmill level and a jello factory level (I think).

I really, really hope the minecart segments in Yooka-Laylee aren't shit. The fluidity makes it seem like it's going to be janky as all hell.
