Thankfully you can also use any standard phono mic in existence, it's the VRU that's the problem. It's not much of an investment when you can only play two games with it, one if you only speak English and/or aren't into Japanese Train Sims.

Digimon s on the sega saturn, bit of a learning curve if you don't speak japanese but most of the interface is just images and if you had a digimon as a kid it is all pretty contextual. Also, the tamagotchi game on the gameboy was basically the same thing but has a translation.

Pokemon Channel > Hey You, Pikachu

At least you get to watch TV in Pokemon Channel and you don't have to say the same thing 7,000 times to get Pikachu to respond to you.
