Say what you will about LJN's shit game design and not getting any comeuppance, but these bastards made some good chiptunes.

It's music made using soundchips. It's chiptunes. Report shitposters and move on. And yes LJN had some quality soundtracks due to talent like Tim Follin.

I enjoyed both Friday the 13th and ANOES. So much so I bought the latter a few weeks ago.

Chiptune music is so substanceless and gimmicky

>> No.1267201

How did this company even get allowed to constantly make games? You'd think the lack of quality would eventually ruin them.

I also really liked Jaws as a kid.

I liked Friday the 13th and Terminator 2 for the NES as a kid and I still think they are OK games.

Also IIRC the Incredible Crash Dummies for the NES had a decent soundtrack.

LJN games that were developed by Software creations were actually good games, buy hard as balls

Pretty much. I could beat Spider-Man and Wolverine's levels but Cyclops, Gambit and especially Storm was a whole different playing field. I should give it another shot sometime.

Wolverine's music was pretty interesting. It made the stage feel like an old 50s or 60s era comic. The stage itself would have been awesome in a Batman game though.

Wow... that aliens soundtrack was made with the same chip? Sounds drastically different from Wolverine.

I don't get it, do you people actually take the comedian seriously? His videos are not actually reviews, they're comedy skits. You're aware of that, right? Right?

No, we all agreed they were cringeworthy mediocre or plain lackluster and badly designed since the beginning.

LJN was just a publisher. Blame Rare, Software Creations and Beam Software for the crap games.

>> No.1270068

But there's an endless amount of those on the NES by any company, and LJN isn't even one of the worst nor one in any way special.

Not to mention, LJN isn't even really the developer of most of their games.

He sure is. Just a shame that he's always overshadowing Geoff. People seem to be praising Tim even if they're commenting on a soundtrack which both brothers worked on.

The only legitimately bad LJN game that I have personally played was X-Men. That game is completely abstract and plain unenjoyable. Back to the Future was more of a game than that.

Funny story, no one really knows who developed X-Men. Some people suspect it might have been the same people who made Topple Zip for the FDS, as they both use similar sound effects. Topple Zip itself has no credits, but it was published by Bothtec, and one of the cheats you can enter is "Pixel". Pixel was a developer who is better known for Over Horizon, and not much else.

>> No.1272216

You know you dun fucked up when games based on aliens are better made than the actual aliens franchise.

>> No.1272296

Agreed.
