I'll give you $10 for one. I've never played it...

>> No.1224252

Dreamcast and PS1 collecting just never appealed to me. I guess it's really just the display factor. A bunch of CDs in a row isn't as appealing as a bunch of carts or Genesis boxes. Maybe it's just me, but I like the DVD cover project for DC, which works out fine since I only physically own 1 DC title

I've never seen any DC games outside of vintage game stores, and the prices are always crazy. And fuck ordering online because in Canada we get nailed on shipping. No way I'm going to pay 40 dollars for Shenmue when my friend got on for 10 at a pawn shop a few years ago.

Fuck 3 copies of Grandia. I have 4 copies of Valkyrie Profile.

>> No.1224350

I really hated Grandia II. Of course I didn't get very far. It felt like an exercise in being the edgiest edgy 90s anime rpg.

>> No.1224647

>>1224350
That's unfortunate. Grandia in general had a really awesome battle system and Grandia II was no exception. The characters were decent, dare I even say good up until near the end where it devolves into nearly every JRPG cliche around.

Overall, it's still a pretty game and a definite must play for the DC.

Not retro, but I just realized that was model of the Fahrenheit. Neat

Where'd you get it?

I felt like I was getting "every jrpg cliche around" about 5 minutes in.

Played it on PC.

As a note, I played the Grandia games because I liked the Lunar games. I wasn't trying to dislike them or disliking them because they were animu.

The Raiden Project any good? I'm a big shmup fan and could never find a copy so far, and never bothered emulating it yet. I love R3 if that makes a difference.

>> No.1226289

>>1226274
Raiden Project is arcade ports of Raiden 1 and 2 on one disc. It has like 5 difficulties and lets you choose between original or remix music. It absolutely kills the "trad" versions on SNES and Genesis, and Raiden 2 is more fun than 1 anyway because of the purple plasma snake gun.

>> No.1228531

>>1226289

gotcha thanks, I almost picked up the Trad versions awhile back, I'd rather have Project.

>> No.1228921

I'll get a shot of my DC collection soon. It's scattered around from my nephews using it.

Only one copy of Grandia 2 I'm afraid. But I have PSO v1 and v2 for some strange reason! I quit collecting games around 8 or so years ago, but all the recent talk about the system makes me want to get back out there and see what else I may be able to find.

I know, it's a shame. I think the Dreamcast was a babystep into that direction though. Introduce a new special, see how the locals deal with it. If people get over the fact that we can discuss the Dreamcast now, the others might make their way relatively soon. Knowing moot (I don't) it will be in relation to when they were released, so don't lose hope until another year or so passes.

So is /vr/ pretty much just /v/ in a time capsule I'm taking it? If the site is around long enough for PS3/360 era to be admitted to /vr/ then at that point it will basically be what /v/ has currently been for years?

It'd be interesting, having left /v/ for this, only to see it slowly over time turn right back into the same shit I ran from. And we'd all feel very old.

>> No.1229686

>>1229638

But people on /v/ would have already talked about those games enough and will have moved on to newer things. By then there will be collectors and people will be searching for hidden gems. Combine that with the (somewhat) separate community of the two boards, and it probably won't be any different from modern /vr/ except for the consoles in discussion.
