you should have said you bought a real console and a flash cart, now the weebs are going to say you didn't get the authentic experience because you emulated (because uh that'll make the games less shit, or something). basically though, yeah, it's a complete piece of trash that only severely autistic men with ponytails can enjoy. every tome they tell you some game is a 10/10 misunderstood masterpiece, they're lying, and the game is usually an unironic 6/10. see: guardian heroes, bulk slash or panzer dragoon. saturn games are the store brand of the 5th gen.

there are a few decent games, and i mean "few" literally. powerslave is good. better than stuff like Perfect Dark or PC shooters? fuck no, but still, good. Albert Odyssey is decent if you like JRPGs. that's about where the list stops. as you can imagine, these games are not worth owning the console for.

Arcade perfect super scalers weren't done better on any other console.. everyone was distracted by the n64 and ps1 flopping around their polygon boobies. This is why people say you can find real artwork on the sega saturn. They are games from a bygone era. The real port looks way nicer than that gif. I had to compress it to death to fit into 4MB.

I mean, the hardware of the 32x could have been great has they developed more games for it. There was a Aliens vs predator arcade port being worked on. There's so much untapped potential and the likelihood of a one even developing for it is slim to none.. but thats the 32x. The saturn saw much more success in Japan. A lot of games a cheaper to collect in Japan region.

I have no idea, but it was my main system at the time. I even feel I probably was from an alternate timeline, but I can easily accept the truth that most people don't like Sega styled games. It is simply that the games which appeal to me are not ones that most others like. Sort of like dark brews, like Guiness, an acquired taste, which most do not like but for a certain few it's great. I'm pretty happy with the games from the Sega Saturn, but I don't expect anyone else to like it and that is fine with me as it is one of my most favorite consoles of all time. It is simply my opinion, as you are free to have your own as well.

Emulating the Saturn is pretty pointless when most of its library is outdated arcade ports (which you are supposed to pretend to like but not actually play, of course).

I grew up with a PSX but I enjoy the Saturn more these days. The library sure is lackluster compared with the PSX, but I honestly like the arcade games, they fit my taste better these days, and some Saturn RPGs are really underrated, specially those that got fan translations in the recent years. Might not be the best console of its generation, but it has its appeal and I'm all for it.

But yeah the library is simply not that good, it's only exceptional to a fighting game fan. I do like the console and I like that the fanbase is translating so many of its weebshit gems which I like. If you like your shit weeby then try Sakura Wars and Grandia which are translated now

The system is sick if you like fighting games and schmups. With the ram upgrade you get almost arcade perfect quality which psx couldn’t get close to. Shit street fighter alpha 3 on Saturn is the best version of that game because all the extra frames of animation.

I really like the Saturn, but I'd never claim it has a ton of must-play, top-tier classics. Instead, I found it to be have a lot of little hidden gems, which has its own charm. You're probably gonna appreciate it more if you just tried random games you personally think look interesting rather than what people consider to be the "big" games.
Also, the console itself is pretty stellar. It's been incredibly reliable from my experience, the controllers are great, and it has an option to save without a memory card and an easily replacable battery, all of which I've had issues with with the Dreamcast.

Yeah it's just not a console like that. Whereas I can say pretty much anyone can pick up PS1, SNES or Genesis and find games they'll like, Saturn is a niche experience like the Dreamcast, PCE or Vita. The small slice of gamers that clicks with the games it has just love it
