The biggest difference lies in how the experience system works. Attack, Magic, and Health all require the same amount of experience to level up. The Western version has Attack require more experience than Magic to level up, which requires more than Health. Theoretically, this makes leveling up Attack easier. I just played through the Japanese version of Zelda 2.
Had never played the game all that much before, so it was mostly a blind run.
Would be a great game for Arino to do.

Oh, and contrary to what someone said earlier, the Japanese version is absolutely easier. The different level system makes you rise through the levels much faster. I was level 6 when I first entered Death Mountain, and got to level 8 in the 5th temple.

Hey, I installed perfect dark, and its actually REALLY easy to use and get setup, however it kept saying "perfect dark connected. unverified port" or something like that. And no matter what I did I couldn't resolve this issue... I opened up the ports in windows, and on my router and still no go... and I'm a fairly computer literate individual. It's a roguelike. So yes it is challenging, not as much as Nethack or Crawl or anything but you do die a lot and a lot of stuff in the game is built around dying and going back through the same areas multiple times.

Should OP stop making these threads because some people don't like him/her? Or because they throw insults and try to act like they represent more than themselves or a small group of people? Of course not. One person, no matter how unpleasant, does not speak for anyone more than themselves. I'm tired of discussing this. I saw everyone starting to get uppity and speak of "drama" and I went on perfect dark and found new Desert Life with my Yoiko brainstorm. This somehow made me a target even without a tripcode identity. An identity of any kind is all someone needs to associate your brain, your soul, with anything they want. Abunai probably doesn't like when someone rips on him when an anon makes spelling mistakes, but he probably doesn't like it even more when it really is him making the mistake and his brain/soul still stick out like that, and he sees people react that way. Usually the drama people are talking about is when someone rips on the habits of one of the subbing groups. That's been here off and on since the early threads. People have grown weary over it, so they might have a hair trigger for something else that gets under their skin. Sorry if you got caught in the undertow of that. I know I'll be taking a deep breath and thinking about what I post before jumping into any frays like that in the future.

I remember when these threads were fun. Everyone was nice and helpful. I mean, most of these dramas (like this going on right now) are fucking pointless. It's a show about retro games and some treat like it's the most important thing in their lives. I should probably the last person to say that, but get a life.

Just here to remember you guys that everyone (inside and outside) is incredibly happy with the things this general has achieved, and that there are not enough faggots in the internet to bring this down as long as we want no trabble.

In all likelihood he is the same person I've dealt with since the beginning...who refused to use ftp for unspecified reasons yet claimed being initiate in its use. He went on to demand Mega uploads, then be unsatisfied with them and demand that the ftp uploads be mirrored on mega instead.

A vote was held in which his opinions and values were made to look foolish by unanimous decision. He came back at me and even others in the thread a number of times, always focusing on the issue of "ftp". It's my understanding that he saw the post he referred to using the term "FTP" and decided "I have him now! Revenge for my humiliations!"
