I still haven't started modding this into a, "Game Boy Macro" because I haven't gotten around to buying/borrowing a soldering iron yet, but I have been playing GBA cartridges on the bottom screen in bed.
God this d-pad is the best d-pad ever even if the idiots placed the power button directly above it.

I finally bothered to get an analogue pocket with the latest limited release. Now I have to wait until Friday for the little fucker to get here.

How is the docking station for the Pocket? I remember the initial reviews were poor but there has to have been a firmware upgrade or two right???

So back in April I was designing a line of accessories/best buttons for the RG35XX with my younger brother, who had three 3D printers, responsible for just fucking printing off the designs I made so we could sand/smooth them down and make proper molds. So, since April of this year, the Konami Arcade unit modern design has been a super secretive project of mine until I can find a reliable 3D printer locally or buy a 3D printer myself. Yes, but keep in mind, all DS and 3DS family systems have a very complex ribbon cable for the top screen and speakers that is fed through a complicated hinge. It will be a process to replace the shell, but it won't require any special tools or soldering.

I use baby wipes for cleaning once a day on average and do everything I can to avoid touching the display. Which is why being unable to set a hardware hotkey for changing the brightness on my Retroid Pocket 2S infuriates me. It's a real shame because hardware-wise it's a great handheld. Android is just an extremely flawed system designed exclusively with the worst way to control any device (touchscreen) in mind. It's somewhat better than Linux on ARM only because it receives more emulator developer support through its popularity and has working suspend.

The usage of Android cannot really be banned because the base system is open-source. The chinks would just make their own shitty fork of Android and put it on their devices like Huawei did. And that honestly might be for the better, at least with Android I can be reasonably sure that I'm getting the exact same shitty experience each time (although never 100% sure, as some SBCs like Orange Pi 5 have shown). With previous chink attempts at software development (actually stealing software, shoddily modifying it for their own purposes and locking it down so the user can't modify it themselves) I can be almost sure that anything they will come up will be worse than Android by the mile. Just look at handhelds like M17 or TrimUI Smart Pro. Any chinkheld that doesn't run Android and doesn't have CFW options is e-waste in my opinion.

No, it's not. It can't even play PS1 games properly. I have a New 2DS XL (which uses the exact same internal hardware) and I tried emulating Spyro the Dragon in Retroarch using PCSX reARMed core with poor results. It couldn't even keep constant frame rate and the sound was fucked regardless of what I did. Its hardware is probably powerful enough to emulate PS1, but only with a tailored standalone emulator, which is not available. I'd say that New 3DS was a great portable emulation solution before 2020 when chinkhelds were trash. But chinks have advanced immensely in the last couple of years, while officialhelds like New 3DS and Vita are neither getting any faster nor receiving more support from developers in most cases. Only buy those consoles if you care about their native games library or want to use them for homebrew development (something like Vita is much, much nicer to make software for than Android) is my recommendation.

Wii U Pro is worse than the weird device because the device allows a direct grip compared to nonsense where you have to reach for pad/buttons on the Pro. Someone said pad/buttons are for direct input, and inner can be slower methods like analog. Nor should analog need weird hand movement starting from pad/buttons. Slower/excess levels of accuracy should always be below/inner, otherwise it'd be like putting a touchscreen in the outer grip to exchange the others, that's just dumb. You'd just be needlessly killing finger movement speed on pad/buttons to be inner/below since there's excess reaching that isn't a worry for the others.

Pressing "1 2 3 4" buttons repetitively in loop with thumb for outer somewhat like fighting game usage is different from doing it inner/below. There is no need to be doing such things for analog/touchpad because it's not limited to "4" quick positions and you will be moving slower in comparison to get something specific. You don't even have hand size retardation since the upper palm grip is the same, but the lower palm/wrist won't be for the diagonal controller layout. There will be less lower palm support for inner/below if you're doing quick movements for top of thumb, and more use of wrist if you used quick buttons there. Definitely get the RP3+ over Vita if you don't care about Vita's native games library. RP3+ can emulate everything PS1, N64, Dreamcast and PSP very well. It can also run some Gamecube and PS2 titles at full speed, but the compatibility is hit-and-miss. Vita's only advantages are its native games and better ergonomics.

You can play a lot of Saturn on T618 but not everything. Grandia battles utterly shit the bed, and weirdly enough I had issues with battles in Shining Force 3 after the beginning area. They would start out fine but then begin skipping more and more frames. Halfway through the game when I was having long battles, I was beginning them perfectly and ending them with literally more frames skipped than displayed. Literally shit like 7 frames actually being displayed per second, 23 being skipped, game desyncing and appearing to fast-forward to where it should be, audio crackling out the ass, etc.

Heh, I had to clean the contacts of the last cart I bought with a magic eraser and isopropyl alcohol to make it work in my SP. If you think you can buy and play on 20+-year old hardware with no issues or fucking around then you are sorely mistaken.
